In America, the early performing arts accomplishments of young Maureen FitzSimons (who we know as Maureen O'Hara) would definitely place her into the prodigy child category. For a child from Irish background, surrounded by talented parents and family, they had innate talents. Maureen was welcomed into the family-oriented home on the 17th of August 20th in Ranelagh. Marguerita FitzSimons was a gifted contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based company and was the owner of a portion of "The Shamrock Rovers," famous Irish soccer team. Maureen FitzSimons was second in a group of 6 FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara rounded off this gorgeous group. Maureen was a fan of rough sports as a kid and was very adept in them. Her passion was coupled with a natural talent for performance. She won almost every Feis Award for Theatre and Drama that her country had to provide. When she turned 14, she was invited into the world-renowned Abbey Theater and pursued her goal of performing in classical theatre and operatic singing.
